COXSACKIE VIRUS-ASSOCIATED ONYCHOMADESIS IN CHILDREN: A CLINICAL-DERMOSCOPIC PRESENTATION

A case report describes infection-related onychomadesis in a 4-year-old patient. The Coxsackie virus infection, which causes hand, foot, and mouth disease, developed with specific symptoms. One month after the end of illness, patient began significant changes their fingernails toenails. Pathological were observed on all first second nail plates detached from matrix, middle distal areas, they adhered to bed. had no history local trauma nails fingers, detrimental nail-related habits, underlying systemic diseases. Finally, diagnosis was established based patient's medical history, physical examination skin its appendages, dermoscopic findings. progress monitored continuously. After two months, clinical recovery became evident, completely restored without any structural abnormalities. Although data associated coxsackie are not so scarce, it remains topical issue pediatric dermatology due importance developmental features.
